Data Engineer

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain data acquisition workflows from heterogeneous data sources;
• Integrate data through REST APIs, Web Services, and other data exchange mechanisms;
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines;
• Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading activities;
• Develop integration scripts and connectors using Python and leverage data from SQL databases and business applications;
• Implement controls to ensure data quality, consistency, availability, and freshness;
• Design and optimize SQL queries and data models to support analytics and business intelligence needs;
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Data Warehouse architectures and Data Platforms;
• Prepare and structure datasets for business teams, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists;
• Support the industrialization of data flows feeding dashboards, KPIs, and Power BI solutions;
• Ensure data traceability, reliability, and security across all delivered datasets;
• Collaborate with IT, business, and industrial teams to enhance data valorization and continuously improve data processes.

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and leading data integration tools;
• Hands-on experience in designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, as well as integrating data through APIs and Web Services;
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse architectures, data modeling, and data visualization tools, particularly Power BI;
• Ability to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the data lifecycle;
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment;
• Experience in an industrial environment and knowledge of IT/OT integration challenges would be considered an asset.

Education & Experience:

• Engineering Degree or Master's Degree (Bachelor’s +5) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field;
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Data solution development, data integration, and the implementation of analytics and decision-support architectures;
• Experience in industrial, mining, energy, or manufacturing environments is highly desirable;
• Knowledge of industrial systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS, IoT, MES, LIMS) and IT/OT convergence challenges would be a significant advantage.
