R&D Simulation Engineer

Main Responsibilities :

• Contribute to R&D projects involving process simulation, modeling, and optimization ;
• Develop and run simulation models for industrial processes ;
• Conduct simulations to assess process performance and identify opportunities for improvement ;
• Collect, organize, and analyze data required for process modeling ;
• Contribute to the development of predictive models using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) ; 
• Test, validate, and evaluate the performance of developed models ;
• Participate in experimental trials and testing activities as part of R&D projects ;
• Document methodologies, findings, and results, while keeping up to date with technological advancements ;
• Work closely with R&D, Process, Production, Data & AI, and Operations teams.

Required Skills ; 

• Strong background in process engineering, process modeling, and simulation ; 
• Proficiency in at least one process simulation software ;
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical data ;
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and AI applications in industrial processes ;
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools ;
• Knowledge of numerical optimization and data processing techniques ;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently ;
• Scientific curiosity, an innovative mindset, and effective communication skills.

Education & Experience : 

An Engineering degree (Bac+5) in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in process simulation, modeling, and/or optimization, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
Experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, or AI applied to industrial processes is considered an asset.
